Response to Does Michelle Obama Only Represent the Black Community?

I watched this video:

Sadly, a great number of us, of all races have had no walk in the park to make it. Constant pointing out of differences and alienating the races is what got millions killed across this planet, The fact that you are privileged enough to be in the White house is beyond actual evidence that your viewpoint of black hatred is not true. How about using the gift god gave you to help unite your nation, still the only nation on earth people are risking everything to flee to? Hate and hostility will only bring more hate. It is only a "black thing" because people like you make it so. I have risked my life as NYC police officer and received many an injury protecting people of all races and religions I didn't know who were just people to me and not colors. My friends have died doing the same. How dare you group all of us together. I swore an oath in the military to protect and defend the constitution. I expect at least the same commitment from my president and his family. Not this nonsense of you were never proud in being an American. Fix it and stop wining and blaming others. Take pride in who and what we are and represent and go after the people that spread hate, death and destruction like sharpton, not all white people as a broad generality. I am offended by the lack discretion and lack of a sense of fair play as an American. You my dear lady are representing me and ALL Americans. Doesn't it seem odd when you do to others what you are accusing others of doing to you? Doesn't it seem odd when you don't care if people riot and threaten to kill police officers and whitey? Imagine if some white folk were doing the same? You have a short period of time before you are just another note in a history book. Please do something for all Americans and be remembered as someone who thought equality was for all not just your own group. Funny, all soldiers and cops know what it is like to have your life depend on someone wearing the same uniform and I defy you to find an American soldier or police officer that would tell you he would rather wait for guy with the same skin color to arrive when the shit is hitting the fan. Same for firemen and EMS workers-think about it and please for the sake of humanity, stop spreading the hate.

Are America's Police Officers the Enemy?

I remember thinking how sad it was that shortly after he was elected, the president of the United States of America (Obama) got involved in local government on a city level and decided purposefully or not (advisedly or not) to state his personal view about how a local police officer in Massachusetts handled a burglary in progress. The fact that this man was known to him made it even more biased and inappropriate but when he called the officer's actions stupid in his quote:

"I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that [Gates case]. But I think it's fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home; and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there's a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately. That's just a fact."

How about determining who is committing the crimes, where are the police being deployed (where are the cops being told to stand or patrol) and lastly, where are the radio runs sending them?

Routine Patrol Marc Cosentino
I lost respect for him. His statement was blatantly setting the stage for what now has become painfully obvious. He will comment and send representatives to support known criminals when they attack police if it is a white officer shooting involved death but ignore the dozens of his police officers killed under his watch, and when I say killed I mean executed in cold blood by assassins who ambushed the officers of all races while they sat in their cars, or pumped gas or were lured to make a car stop. These officers were protecting the streets of his country and now their wives, husband, and kids will never see them gain. Does this matter Mr. President? How dare my president create and foment racial inequality and hatred when so many have fought heroically and continue to fight heroically to correct the insanity of racism. To continue to point out one side and to support one side is the very thing the Black Lives Matter movement is supposed to be fighting. Isn't he the president of all Americans? How can we ever end this if race baiters are not only allowed to lead a nation into civil unrest but encouraged to do so? This is the height of irresponsibility. How does a future generation that is being taught to hate ever end this vicious cycle? The media and profit seeking leaders do not care how many lives are lost, how many families are destroyed or how many businesses burn. This president was elected by the very white people he has made an enemy of. The enemy is NEVER a group of people but the sick and inept leaders that the group chooses to follow or permits to lead them. All people must be included and treated equally under the law if this country is to survive and prosper. All people need to take responsibility for their actions. All people need to contribute to society and be a part of it. All people need to be held accountable for their actions and the promoters of hate need to be identified and removed like the true cancer they are by ignoring them instead of giving them the stage. Reverse racism is still racism and the sick individuals that hate or become puppets of the haters need to be stopped. There is our country and when you see the hate being spread you have a duty as an American to stop it. How? By saying something, by exposing the truth or by shutting the door on the haters. Why? Because sooner or later it will affect you and your family and you will be caught up in it because the hate is so easily spread by an irresponsible media leading to the destruction of entire neighborhoods. Having witnessed first hand the horror of what uncontrolled mob violence is capable of I sincerely urge all of us (myself included) to take a better look at our own actions and those of the people we follow because the life you save and the family you help avoid tragedy may be your own.  Marc Cosentino

Where has America Gone? Why are so many things wrong?

Since when did we become a nation of crybabies? What moron brought up this politically correct syndrome and since when did it become cool to like and support greedy degenerates that will do anything for attention or a buck? Why is OK to hate and attack the police and why is it OK to allow animals free reign in a peaceful society. Psychiatric permissiveness has gone too far and the spoiled brat that the teacher is not allowed to discipline (because we have become a nation of cowards) has every “right” to act up and interfere with your child’s education yet the decent child has no right to get an education. Your president can go after gun owner as a group for the actions of a few but won’t dare do the same with extremists killing his own people. A man who becomes a woman is a hero and the men and women that protect our nation and our streets are vilified and intimidated openly as sport in the media circus. Law makers can operate much like weathermen with no slight consequence for their actions and even vote themselves a raise for abysmal performances. Bad as all this is it gets worse when high ranking government officials not only ignore the law but openly scoff at it and use the same laws they break to harm others. Does anybody notice the lack of discipline or the permissiveness of parents? How is ok to have junior disrupt an entire restaurant’s dinners because you allow your child to scream and run around the place as he pleases. [MC1] Basic self-respect and responsibility have been degraded and destroyed. Who made it a popular pastime for the press to humiliate and badger people they deem unpopular? This may come from the top down via our current “leaders” and our education system but somebody out there is allowing this. You and I are not standing up enough when we know something is wrong. We have politicians that literally feel they can murder citizens, attack nations, leave Americans to die under fire or rot in prison with no worry of being called out for it or implicated as criminals. Is there no one left to actually serve justice or has the entire nation been subverted and subjugated without so much as whimper of disapproval. What are our children learning in school? Do we have a nation of sheep? Will taking a pill because you can’t face your pathetic life become the national pastime? Is this a coincidence that we are being given corn (welfare) and games (Electronic media) to mollify us? The workers are forced to work harder and longer hours to support the non-workers and non-producers “demands”. These parasites would never exist in the natural order of life, be it animal or human. Injustice is rampant and burns at the core of every human being but here is the rub. What are the correct targets? How do we fix this mess? Why should you care? Because this is “our” life, our planet, our country, our society, our families and our existence. If you honestly feel all is ok with this current situation then by all means go back to your Prozac, beer and video games and forget I mentioned this but if you are like me and the millions of others who know something is very wrong then I suggest you act and act now before it is truly too late. It has always begun with one man, any great idea or movement and conversely the evil and destructive results are also implemented by single men allowed to persist with their own brand of insanity. What can you do? Raise your own responsibility to start. Clean your own areas, stop lying about little things or pretending the things you see on a daily basis are ok. Get educated as to what are the laws of the nation. What are the true statistics of the people in your environment-are they actually helping or hurting progress in your life or the lives of others? When that kid acts up-say something to him or his parent. When someone talks in broad generalities ask him for the facts. Stand up for the good people in your neighborhood that you see are helping others. Demand the reporters and media print the truth and don’t support people that create upset and make life appear miserable. Encourage that kid who shows interest in your work or occupation or hobby. Discourage the kid who is making it hard for others to study, play or work. Take an interest in your life and just look very hard at the people in your environment. Are they helping, hurting or just an obstacle to our lives? I say our OUR specifically because good and bad both spread with small actions from one to another. Like when that that woman driving a cab cuts you off to get ahead of you in traffic and you get annoyed or refuse to let the next guy trying to merge in and so on. How about the bus driver that passes you by and pretends he doesn’t see you when you are already late for work and then the boss goes after you? How about when your child wants to read to you and you’re too busy with a TV show. Life is a series of actions that lead up to your existence and changing your viewpoint to take a little more responsibility for yourself and others is a great way to do something to improve your life and the lives of others. It’s too easy to go with crowd. It’s too easy to allow others to harm others and adopt the old “none of my business” attitude. Sad to say that this is ALL your business and mine and his and hers and theirs. This is not a one man show and probably you already know that. Never let the opinions of others stop you from doing what you know is right. Never listen to the “it’s just business, I’m just one guy, nobody cares, they’re too big, nothing can be done about it” attitudes. If you fall for those lies all will remain the same at the minimum and truthfully it will probably get worse. If you decide to make a small difference it may be that little spark of human kindness or insisting on doing the right thing that encourages someone at the end of his rope to hold on one more day in the hope that things can get better. It may just be the difference between someone giving up or getting up again to achieve a goal. Your power is infinite and immense, never allow another being to say it is not so for he is truly your enemy trying to destroy you. You have the ability to change history and make this a better experience by caring and acting. Please consider this the next time you wonder why things are the way they are. Marc Cosentino, a friend.

What does it mean to be an American?

America

The other day I was studying a course on how to study(imagine that) called The Student Hat and it dawned on me that perhaps we as a nation have a misunderstanding on what is to be an American. I don't remember it being defined in school nor have I seen any written description of what is expected of an American other that The Pledge of Allegiance(devotion or loyalty to a person, group, or cause) and my Oath of Enlistment for the USAF. I always thought that it was odd that the country that had the most freedoms would have so many people acting in such a manor as to intentionally cause fear, hate, destruction, division and ultimately a reduction of unity, safety, happiness and freedom for all citizens. In my, perhaps naive, view I always thought that America stood for freedom and stands as place of dreams for the entire world. A place where any person from any land can arrive here with virtually the shirt on his back and by his own will and persistence pursue his happiness and goals unhampered by government or ideologies. Not only that but with tremendous assistance from his now fellow Americans via medical, welfare, educational systems and grants. In an ideal world all of these things would create a sense of pride and loyalty and a desire to help and contribute to the betterment of our nation or at least the persistence of it. But this is not the case because we as a people do not have the basic agreement of what it is to be an American and what is expected of us. Once we understand this then we can spread out a little more into what our roles are as citizens of the greatest country on earth and from there the next step of how we can identify our enemies behind the scene that are continually promoting war, racial divide, religious intolerance and hatred to line their pockets with blood money. I have personally met thousands of people from all around this world and all across America and they are by and large good people trying hard to make a good life for their families and are not trying to take advantage of others. They are filled with the hopes and dreams we all hold in common. Why do we allow our "leaders" to act in petty criminal ways? Why do we tolerate lies and deceit? Maybe it's because we don't have the basic agreements as a group as to what we are? Maybe we need to figure out what it means to be an American as a group. Then we can decide what is survival for America and what is not. Is this a simple viewpoint-yes. Is it workable-I think so. Is it worth creating a movement along the lines of "Bring back the American Dream"? What do you think? Epidemic Suicide Rate by US Veterans on Psyche Drugs

Sadly, many people do not know or understand the direct link to the pseudo-science of psychiatry, it's made up diseases and unregulated mass drugging of not only our veterans but over 11,000,000 children as young as infants for such "diseases" as infantile sleeping disorder and infantile eating disorder. Yes based on their diagnostic and statistic manual psychiatry has found a way to label any and all human beings as having a disorder requiring psychotropic medication. Yes, not only that but there are no physical tests for any of their "diseases" and we now have more of our servicemen and women dying from suicide than combat. This is blood money and mainstream doctors are being duped into thinking these drugs are an answer. Thank god for groups like Vital Warrior founded by a former Navy Seal that in his own words " Almost died from the psyche drug cocktails" and the Citizens Commission on Human Rights which continually monitors and exposes psychiatric fraud and abuses.  With an ever growing percentage of our countries adult citizens walking around on these mind altering drugs and all the school shooters having psyche drugging history in common it is dangerous to allow this criminal trend to continue. Get educated, get involved and protect those who protect us and our future by insisting this epidemic is stopped.

Forkgate: Mayor Deblasio Caught in the Act by NYPD in the "Forgotten Borough"

Mayor De Blasio was visiting the original Goodfella's Brick Oven Pizza on Hylan Blvd. Staten Island(The Forgotten Borough) for his first summit with business owners and local city representatives when he got himself involved in his biggest scandal to date. The summit was moving along at a pleasant pace and new Mayor was graciously entertaining any and all local concerns with genuine interest when suddenly he reached for a fork and knife to eat the Smoking Goodfella Pizza. The predominately Italian American audience was stunned since any New Yorker knows you "don't eat pizza with a fork". Luckily Cosentino after years of training and working the streets was able to tempoarily contain the feeding frenzy of the press with back up by his partners Scot and Andy. Scot Cosentino said "I think he is just trying to be polite about it, alright. We will talk to him on the side about it". Andrew Scudera had this to say "we are known for our gourmet pizza and winning the International pizza contest so people come from all over the world to try our gourmet pizza cooked in our wood burning oven. I have seen people eat pizza both ways and it doesn't matter to me as long as they enjoy it".
Marc used professional courtesy, alertness and discretion to contain the crowd and de-escalate the tense situation. As soon as the the opportunity arose he stepped in, collected the fork in question,  marked and labeled it to preserve the evidence chain and "resumed pizza patrol". Scot left off with a chuckle " in retrospect I guess we will have to added a section to our pizza school called "Pizza Eating Etiquette 101".

How to Achieve Success

Recently my face appeared on a poster with Leonardo DiCaprio(I'm on his left)  for the new Martin Scorsese film called the Wolf of Wall Street. A friend of mine saw this and asked me how he he could get into movies and I responded with this:
Marc Cosentino Routine Patrol Author on Left Arresting Leonardo Di Carprio
JUST SHOW UP! What does this mean? It means get out there and do something to accomplish your goal. I grew up in Brooklyn  New York with nothing and I mean nothing as far as material possessions go so maybe it was an advantage of a sort. Not to belabor the point but mom worked 2-3 jobs, dad was with another family,we were hungry most of the time and so on but one thing we always had was hope and the will to go on. Our imaginations, creating ideas, plotting and planning the next idea is what drove us. Everybody has this to some degree or they wouldn't get up in the morning, but the guys and girls I see succeed make an art of it.The ones that make it to the top know that no matter what may come as as long as they breathe, there will always be another shot. No matter how many times they fail there will always be another chance to succeed. You know the names of so many but have you ever looked at what they actually did to win? People like: Edison, Hershey, Paul Revere, Jobs, Trump, Pacino, Davinci, Helen Keller, L.Ron Hubbard, Lincoln, Dylan, Bear Bryant, DiMaggio, The Beatles and so many more have overcome a lot and persisted through the obstacles and hurdles regardless of how impossible it seemed to attain the goal. As I write this I realize I am encouraging myself in my new venture as much as my friends who may be hitting the wall or waiting for a spark to jump into the next attempt at a personal goal. It has nothing to do with your current position, status, wealth or even your raw ability, it has everything to do with showing up to the game. What does that mean? It means this is your life so you have to come and play. To break it down even simpler and borrow a popular phrase from the lottery " you gotta be in it to win it". How does this relate to your immediate situation? This depends of course on who you are and what you like or want to achieve but the basic idea can apply to anyone in any endeavor. Talk is cheep so here are some of my favorite examples.
My friend Bob was a detective and artist in NYC and asked his boss if he could use a closet in the station house as an office. His commander thought he was nuts but indulged him(which translates to encourage) to guys like us. The space was so small he had to turn his desk sideways to put it in the the new "office" and then climb over the desk to squeeze into his chair. Bob then put up sign on over the door to his office which read "Art Detective NYPD". There was the usual jokes and ribbing as any cop would expect but his interest and desire soon had him investigating art crimes at the most famous art museum in the world, The Louvre in Paris France and later got his photo on the cover of GQ magazine as the ART COP. This man was passionate and dedicated to helping people, which is how I met him and we became instant friends. He didn't worry about what people thought or if it was the acceptable thing to do, he did what he knew was right and I admire that most about him and miss his joyful smile. You can read more of him in this New York Times article.

My brother Scot decided one day that we would " open a pizzeria and make the best pizza". Coming from New York City the home of the best pizza in the world and wanting to do it in Staten Island New York of all places, which is home to largest Italian-American Population in America made this an even crazier idea. Not to mention that we had no experience in the industry and were surrounded by incredible mom and pop pizza places(no national chain could ever compete a local family run place for quality and freshness by the way). His pizza plan was the essence of simplicity and having once laughed at him back in the 70's when he returned after a jog with an epiphany and came to me all excited with the idea to "bottle water and sell it because you can't find get a drink of water while running".  As you know his idea became a billion dollar industry several years later so I decided maybe he knows something I don't. His best pizza idea which I backed fully this time soon became the Industry leading Goodfella's Brick Oven Pizza and wouldn't you know he actually one the "World's best Pizza" in several International contests.
Now for an example, I learned from my 10-year-old daughter Lily. Her best friend was doing gymnastics and convinced her to take classes with her. Lily was a year or two behind the classes but determined to catch up and learn how to do the running flip in the air without touching the ground. Every day, all day long, she would watch YouTube videos and practice the steps leading to the running flip or whatever it is called. "Daddy, can you hold my legs?" Daddy, can you help me bend backward and hold me up? Daddy, can you watch me? Rain or shine she would practice. Day in and day out. With her friends or alone. Then one day she asked me to watch her on the front lawn. She ran as fast as she could, jumped and crashed into the ground. I was running towards her when she picked herself up, smiled and said: "stay there I am going to try it again OK?" Man, I was proud of her and waited as she went back to her starting place and began running, put her down as she ran and kicked her legs in an arch up over head and landed on her feet. Wow! I was impressed and realized what an accomplishment this was for her after months of working towards it.
As for myself; I remember wanting to be on a TV show called NYPD BLUE as a young actor(since I thought I was perfect for a role as a former police officer from New York). I had auditioned in New York and was told it was good and we can use you but as the season started progressing the encouragement became " maybe next year, we have a stable of actors her, only so many roles, your in New York...) depression hit me hard for a minute with my hopes dashed so I made a decision to SHOW UP! I went home packed my bag after buying a one-way ticket to Hollywood and told my new wife " I am going to Hollywood and I'm not coming back till I get on this show". Well, I showed up there, announced myself, got to meet Bill Clark the technical adviser (a former NYC detective) who after a few days reluctantly said: " you got an audition it's not as easy as it looks and there is nothing I can do for you once you're  in there". That was all I needed to hear, I read for the part, the casting director asked: " you did this before?" I said yes and 10 days later I was a co-star on the top TV show acting with my hero Dennis Franz from Hill Street Blues. I returned to New York in triumph.
Any of these examples could have resulted in failure and there were many failures on the way, so what? The point of all this is try, keep trying, get in there, give it a shot and keep giving it a shot, refining it, practicing, regrouping, trying new approaches and knowing that you are in the arena. Those of you who give it your all will always be able to hold your head high and look the men and women who have done the same in the eye with pride and honor regardless of your current position in the game. All who watch you struggle will admire your attempt regardless of what they say.  Only you can determine how far you will rise and I will always respect those of you in the Arena. Best wishes, Marc Cosentino
